Use case 03 / 05 · Market intelligence & benchmarking
Installed-base analytics: market share, growth, saturation
The dataset is a full census of what is installed, so it measures the market directly, not from a survey. Example: the German wind fleet by manufacturer, the solar build-out over 25 years, and capacity by state.

Reading it: ENERCON and Vestas together hold roughly 61.1% of installed MW. The rising “Ø MW/turbine” down the newer entrants shows the shift to larger machines, useful for repowering demand forecasting and warranty/replacement TAM.
Installed solar capacity by state

Solar build-out: new systems per year (2000–2025)
Y: systems
The 2023/24 spike, over 1M new systems each year, is the balcony-solar + energy-crisis boom, visible directly in the data.
